The South Bay's May/June gloom came with us to Riverside this morning and made our riding conditions better than expected. It got really fun from the Banning Pass to Palm Springs when the tailwinds pushed us to speeds exceeding 35 mph on a level grade, WHILE COASTING! Two short legs on the interstate hwy (I-10), which was a first for me... and no speeding tickets.

Excellent. The winds through the pass can be TOO strong at times. Glad you found good conditions.
ReplyDeleteWow, 35mph coasting on the flats! You lucky! How come when we ride together it's always HEADwinds. Looks like you are off to a great start. Say hello to Palm Springs, the home of your first ever century ride.
ReplyDeleteThe high way run is crazy, isn't it?! Right next to the big rigs. Talk about adrenaline!
