Cool weather (for the desert) and tailwinds (again) gave us extremely favorable conditions today. Temperatures in the high 70's/low 80's were much lower than normal for this time of year while 30 mph tailwinds enabled us to ride 101 miles and climb 2,100 ft. in 5 hours and 10 minutes. I'm beginning to feel a little bit like Forest Gump!

Those are great conditions to ride. Two days of winds behind you and seasonable low temps. First state crossing tomorrow. Don't forget to sprinkle your sand.
ReplyDeleteWow, mid-eighties in the desert and a tailwind; it doesn't get much better than that. Tomorrow is a long day into Wickenburg, but you haven't used up all your weather kharma.
ReplyDeleteSounds like perfect riding conditions. Your "rig" looks like it has
ReplyDeletemade the transformation from racing to touring. I can see all the
aditional equipment goodies you've added on for the long trek.
I certainly hope that the winds remain for the Middle America journey.
